The Maine School Tour of The Fofer Show will bring a free performance to 25 underserved elementary schools in Maine, focusing on Washington and Aroostook Counties. The Fofer Show is a magical, musical, moving storybook, transporting audiences to the special secret island of Fof, home to the multi-colored furry Fofers and their gentle four-legged friends, the Peaceballs. The hour-long Fofer Show features stories and songs on guitar and ukulele with projected animations I’ve created, plus visits with The Fofers.

In the past year, I’ve performed The Fofer Show over forty times, from Eastport to Dover-Foxcroft, Stonington to Peaks Island and as far as New York City. Each show has been a special experience for me. I can always tell from the crowd of smiling faces that The Fofers clearly capture imaginations. Kids have drawn pictures, written songs and devoted entire journals to The Fofers. This sort of exchange has been energizing and inspiring and I look forward to sharing The Fofer Show with thousands of Maine kids.

You can help bring The Fofer Show to underserved Maine elementary schools this Fall by giving a tax-deductible donation. I need to raise $1,000 to qualify for special grants that will fund the Maine School Tour. I’m over halfway there, thanks to generous donations from Coffee By Design in Portland, Machias Savings Bank and contributions from individuals. Donate up to $25 and become a member of The Fofer Club. Give $25-$50 and you’ll be acknowledged on a special page at Fofers.com. Donate more than $50 and you’ll be named a Fofer Friend at Fofers.com and in The Fofer Show program, which will be distributed to thousands of Maine families. Whatever the amount of your donation, you’ll help introduce The Fofers to kids across Maine. It’s quick and easy to make a tax-deductible online donation with a credit card.

The Maine School Tour of The Fofer Show is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions in behalf of The Fofer Show may be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Donate online here.

Thanks, Shana
